The purpose of the Bridge Bidding Tutor is to provide extensive practice in the technique of bidding that you have already been taught in a class or have learned by reading teaching material. Please be aware that it is not designed as a tool for learning how to bid at Bridge in the first place but as an aid to understanding and exercising the techniques you have already been taught or learned.
The bidding style in the exercises follows closely that presented in the teachings of Ron Klinger, so his books come highly recommended for those wishing to learn Bridge and further their Bridge education.
The BRIDGE BIDDING TUTOR will run on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and requires a minimum screen size of 1280 x 800 pixels. It comes on a standard installation CD which contains the software necessary to install and run all the currently available exercises in demonstration mode. In this mode, an exercise is limited to three questions only to give you a flavour of what it is about. A full exercise contains about 50 questions and copious example hands illustrating both correct and incorrect bidding.
To run a full exercise requires its purchase at an individual price of £3 and subsequently its registration. The registration process is carried out by exchanging product codes and keys via email. The key will unlock the full exercise for one computer only. You are free to copy the distribution CD to others but they will be required to purchase the full exercises before they will run out of demonstration mode.
Installation is extremely easy. On most systems it will require only the insertion of the CD and selecting the “setup” option from the menu displayed. If your system is not configured for automatic installation, then use Windows Explorer to view your CD/DVD drive contents (often drive D: or E:). From there you can run the setup program, being sure to allow the installation to continue if you are asked to verify the software’s origin.
